The birthplace of Foreign
Accents Rugs was a small
garage in Santa Fe, New Mexico
back in 1984. Trish & Wolfgang
Rempen envisioned affordable
contemporary rug design in a
world where oriental
rugs
ruled the market. The 2 of
them setup a small showroom
and by 1987 that small
showroom very quickly expanded
into a big showroom in
Albuquerque, NM. The first
show for Foreign
Accents area
rugs was in January of 1985.
The rugs were featured at the
Contemporary Furniture Fair in
San Francisco, California. Two
years later, Trisha & Wolfgang
packed up their van and headed
to Atlanta, GA. The 3rd show
came just one year after that
and was situated in High
Point, NC. With each event
came more inspiration and new
ideas. Today, Foreign Accents
has developed relationships
with manufacturers in over 30
countries around the world.
